The Foundation for Alternative and Integrative Medicine (FAIM) participated in an event organized by the International Medical University of Natural Education (IMUNE) in Cancun, Mexico.

IMUNE is an organization conceived to offer continuing high-level education principally to practitioners who use the SCIO technology. The flier of the conference said: "in times of change learners inherit the earth; while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists" (Eric Hoffer). Thus incited, FAIM could not lose the opportunity to learn the latest advancements in natural medicine. This event also turned out to be an opportunity to network with a wide range of complementary and alternative medicine practitioners from around the world.

The theme of the conference was physical and psychological trauma. A quote from William Redpath's Trauma Energetics outlined the ethos of the conference:

"Subtle energetic representations of trauma are readily approachable and resolvable. These energetic signatures lie outside the thought and speech centers of the brain. It is easier to unravel them without entering into their narrative representations." The conference organizers emphasized that traditional therapy seeks memories, ideas, sensations, feelings and thoughts as primary. However, Redpath's experience with psychoanalysis was that no matter how well victims recalled critical memories, the patterns of their lives continues to be tormented and disrupted. Redpath discovered that there is something prior, preverbal, and that can be reached directly. The organizers tried to show the participants where this something is, why it is there and ways to access it.

Bill Nelson, who is the inventor of the SCIO and one of the conceivers of IMUNE, made one of the key presentations. He outlined the advancements in the latest SCIO devices as well as a magisterial explanation on the principles of quantum physics on which energy medicine is based.

Dr. Oschman has dedicated a lifetime to integrate the energetic basis for health and healing processes and is author of more than 60 papers and of two landmark books (Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis and Energy Medicine in Therapeutics and Human Performance). Dr. Oschman's lecture was on the Living Matrix which in the meantime has become the subject of a homonymous movie (whose trailer can be viewed on the following site: www.thelivingmatrixmovie.com). Dr. Oschman then continued by explaining the different ways that trauma is absorbed and eliminated by the body. He finished his lecture by proposing a novel idea of how free flowing electrons on the earth's surface can have an antioxidant function for the body.

Deane Juhan is a body-worker whose extensive experience of 30 years has been collected in his two books: Job's Body: A Handbook for Bodywork and Touched by the Goddess: The Physical, Emotional and Spiritual Dimensions of Bodywork. He gave a presentation on the relations between mind, body and spirit and the creative forces at work in all self-development, healing and artistic expression. (website: www.jobsbody.com)

Dr Robert Bray is a mental health expert specializing in the traumatic stress recovery. He gave a presentation of TFT, an acronym for Thought Field Therapy, which is a method to heal traumatic stress using a tapping technique. TFT has successfully treated many disorders including anxiety, phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, panic attacks, OCD, PTSD. (website: www.rlbray.com)

Dr. Zulia Frost is an emergency medical doctor from Kazakhstan who is an expert in ultrasonic diagnostics and radiology. After relocating to the United Kingdom, she became fascinated by new medical technologies developed in Russia. One of these, the Interactive Neurostimulation Technology (INT), gave her such impressive results with trauma patients that Dr. Frost began researching it. She has since become recognized as the leading clinician and trainer of INT. She hopes to realize the vision that this advanced technology becomes a standard in health care (website: www.interxclinic.com)

Dr. Cori Carter is a young second generation chiropractor who started her professional career compounding her parents' 30 years of experience. She gave a presentation on a whole array of medical laser technologies and how they can be used to heal the human body.

Paul Weisbart is the developer of the Quantum Scalar Wave Laser. He made a presentation on this handheld laser device and its application in treating traumas.
